 GIVING BACK TO CDM

Your Gift Means Everything
The College of Dental Medicine (CDM) was founded at Columbia University in 1917 through the efforts of individuals who recognized the value of a professional education for dentists. The doctors and dentists dedicated their time, invested their passion and staked their own fortunes to ensure the success of the College. In giving to the College of Dental Medicine, you continue a tradition of philanthropy that has made the College one of the world's preeminent institutions of learning.

Every gift has a different story behind it. And while everyone has a different reason for giving, every gift is important.

  • Your gift moves CDM forward as it honors its past. It repays the gifts you received from those who came before you.
  • Your gift confirms the quality of your own (or your child's or your spouse's) experience at Columbia. It is given in appreciation for the doors of opportunity the College has opened for you throughout your life.
  • Your gift enriches the lives of our students. It inspires their gratitude and informs their conscience. It supports the thoughtful education of tomorrow's professional oral health care leaders.
  • Your gift makes CDM affordable where it would not be otherwise and allows the College to welcome the best and brightest students regardless of their ability to pay.
  • Your gift affirms a shared belief that research and education is the key to securing a better future for our world.

Your Gift Is Needed

A significant portion of CDM's annual revenue has its origins in philanthropic support for the College—some recent, some past. In order to open its doors each year, CDM relies on the generosity of past generations (through its endowment) and new gifts for operating purposes (through capital gifts and through gifts to the Annual Fund). Contact the Development Office to:

  • Learn about the many reasons and ways to give to CDM.
  • See how alumni and friends' gifts to the Annual Fund make a difference in the life of the College.
  • Find out about gift planning and how to include CDM in your estate plan.
  • Join your classmates in making a reunion gift.

If you would like more information about giving to CDM, please contact Geri Connors at (212) 342-5612 or give online now.
