Course Description
This course will provide an update on common pathologic conditions of the oral cavity and maxillofacial region in pediatric patients. The etiology and treatment of dental anomalies will be addressed. Commonly encountered mucosal lesions will be reviewed with inclusion of clinical and microscopic features. Appropriate treatment modalities will be covered, whether surgical or medicinal in approach. Common craniofacial congenital anomalies will be reviewed with an emphasis on the role of genetics in these disorders. |
Course Objectives
- To become familiar with the common pathologic conditions in pediatric patients
- To learn to develop a differential diagnosis of oral lesions based on the clinical presentation
- To become familiar with appropriate diagnostic testing and therapeutic modalities

TUITION & FEES: CDM
alumni and all dental hygienists/staff receive a 10% discount on listed
tuition for all Continuing Education (CE) courses. CDM alumni graduating
within five (5) years prior to a course receive a 20% discount. CDM
faculty and staff receive a 50% discount on listed tuition rates.
Retired alumni not requiring CE credits may audit courses at no charge,
dependent on space availability.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellation
of a course will result in a refund or credit. Refunds are granted only
if notification is received at least 72 hours prior to the course.
Columbia University cannot assume responsibility for losses due to
participants' travel arrangements. Tuitions for no-shows will be
forfeited.
