The cost of a computer can range quite significantly ($800 - $3,000). It is recommended to purchase a computer with today's most advanced technology (particularly processors), as they quickly become obsolete. At the same time, top of the line computers often include unnecessary multimedia features and huge memory capacities that are excessive to the average student. Sleek and compact designs for laptops are lighter and thus easier to carry, but usually carry a more expensive price tag. Utilizing the specifications guide, expect to spend about $1,000 to $1,500 for a desktop and $1,500 to $2,000 for a laptop. Some companies (Dell) offer monthly payment plans to help with the costs.

Educational loans are available to cover a computer or upgrade purchased only after students have registered at CDM. Official registration occurs during the Orientation week in late August. Students who decide to purchase/upgrade prior to registration, will NOT be covered under financial aid.

Students are eligible to apply for financial aid for only one computer purchase during the four year DDS program.
