The Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (OMFR) trains undergraduate dental students and post-graduate specialty residents in oral and maxillofacial radiology. These activities are accomplished through a series of courses and clinical rotations throughout the second, third, and fourth year of the predoctoral dental curriculum. This educational experience continues in the various graduate programs in which the Division offers advanced diagnostic imaging services and consultation in all aspects of dental and maxillofacial diagnosis.
In addition, the Division provides contemporary oral and maxillofacial diagnostic services to our community as well as to the dental professionals in New York City.
The equipment available is “state-of-the-art” and includes several intra-oral examination/radiology rooms, two panoramic/cephalometric units, a cone-beam computed tomography unit, fully equipped, and a radiology reading room.
The Division of OMFR has participated with its equipment and its faculty in numerous research activities associated with almost every aspect of maxillofacial diagnosis and treatment.
