GIVING BACK TO CDM
A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE
The College of Dental Medicine has been a committed leader in dental education since its inception in 1917. Our tripartite mission of education, research and patient care is evidenced by the superior education received by our students, the groundbreaking research performed by our faculty, and the outstanding oral health care treatment provided by our clinics.
The Capital Campaign
The Capital Campaign is an intensive fundraising effort to raise significant gifts and pledges in support of several key initiatives. These include facility renovations, scholarship support for our outstanding students, the creation of endowed faculty chairs, expansion of our research mission, and provision of care to underserved populations both locally and abroad. Contributions are often in the form of multi-year pledges from committed alumni, faculty, and friends of the College, as well as major gifts and grants from foundations and corporations.
The Annual Fund: Your Gift Is Needed
The Annual Fund is a vital source of unrestricted contributions given each year by dedicated alumni, faculty and friends of CDM. The College depends upon the Annual Fund to meet its most compelling needs and initiatives. Gifts to the annual fund can be unrestricted or earmarked toward one of the following funds:
- THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND Financial aid and scholarships help students of varying needs offset the high cost of education. Scholarships also allow for important externship opportunities where students gain clinical experience while meeting the needs of underserved populations.
- REUNION CLASS GIVING Class Reunion Day is held each spring to honor classes celebrating 5th through 75th reunions. Classmates join together during a reunion year to raise gifts toward a class fund, which is designated to support a specific initiative. Alumni are encouraged to give a significant gift during a reunion year.
- PATRICIA MCLEAN FUND FOR DENTAL HYGIENE Established in memory of former Dental Hygiene Program Director Patricia McLean, the fund supports the McLean Dental Hygiene Symposium held annually at CDM.
