GIVING BACK TO CDM
A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE
The College of Dental Medicine has been a committed leader in dental education since its inception in 1917. Our tripartite mission of education, research and patient care is evidenced by the superior education received by our students, the groundbreaking research performed by our faculty, and the outstanding oral health care treatment provided by our clinics.
The Annual Fund: Your Gift Is Needed
The Annual Fund is a vital source of unrestricted contributions given each year by dedicated alumni, faculty and friends of CDM. The College depends upon the Annual Fund to meet its most compelling needs and initiatives. Gifts to the annual fund can be unrestricted or earmarked toward one of the following funds:
|- THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND Financial aid and scholarships help students of varying needs offset the high cost of education. Scholarships also allow for important externship opportunities where students gain clinical experience while meeting the needs of underserved populations.|
|- REUNION CLASS GIVING Class Reunion Day is held each spring to honor classes celebrating 5th through 75th reunions. Classmates join together during a reunion year to raise gifts toward a class fund, which is designated to support a specific initiative. Alumni are encouraged to give a significant gift during a reunion year.|
We're Counting on You
There are many ways to make gifts in support of CDM. Whether you choose to make a gift to the annual fund using cash, securities, real estate or other assets, your contribution will help to further strengthen CDM.
- CASH Gifts by cash and check are the most common. To make a gift, please send checks payable to "The Trustees of Columbia University in the City of New York" at the address below.
- SECURITIES Giving via stocks, bonds, mutual funds or other property is another way you can contribute to CDM. To make a gift of securities, please call the Development Office at (212) 342-5612.
- MATCHING GIFTS To double the impact of your contribution, you can take advantage of a matching gift from your employer. If you or your spouse works for an employer offering this benefit, contact the personnel office about making a matching gift. Find out if your employer has a matching gift program
- PLANNED GIFTS Planned gifts can offer significant estate tax and income benefits and allow donors to make larger gifts than would otherwise be possible
