External Student Research Opportunities
National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) Summer Dental Student Award
This program allows outstanding dental students to spend a summer of training at the NIDCR, located on the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland. The program lasts a minimum of 8 weeks during the summer. The NIDCR Summer Dental Student Award is designed to promote the professional careers of talented dental students through exposure to the latest advances in oral health research and administration. Students will be assigned a mentor and research project that corresponds to his or her qualifications and interests. Students will gain hands-on experience in basic or clinical research. Participation may result in presentation of research findings at a scientific meeting and co-authorship of scientific publications.
