Dr. Kim earned his D.D.S. at Seoul National University and Columbia University, New York. He received a Certificate in Endodontics and a M.S. in oral biology from the University of Pennsylvania. He has been at Columbia University serving as an assistant professor since 2009. He has been in the Center for Craniofacial Regeneration as a staff researcher, actively working on dental tissue engineering. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and has served on the AAE Research and Scientific Affairs Committee. His research is focused on dental tissue engineering including dental pulp regeneration. He has been doing clinical research on endodontic microsurgery, cone beam computed tomography and endodontic instrumentation as well as dental implants.
