Satoko Matsumura, DDS, PhD, MDS
Overview
Dr. Matsumura is a full-time Associate Professor of Dental Medicine at the Columbia University Medical Center in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.
Dr. Matsumura received her DDS from Hiroshima University School of Dentistry and PhD in radiation oncology from Osaka University School of Dentistry in Japan. She completed a residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at the University of Connecticut, receiving a Master of Dental Science. During her career, she has worked in clinical care, academia, and research, including at the New York University School of Medicine, where she produced various publications.
Dr. Matsumura’s time is balanced among teaching pre- and postdoctoral students in radiology, providing diagnostic readings for internal and external patient cases, and clinical research. As the Director of Radiation Safety, Dr. Matsumura also provides radiation safety training at the College of Dental Medicine.
